“Neighbour Day in Upper Victoria Park is a vibrant, whimsical celebration of neighbourhood like nothing else in the city…and everyone is invited.”
It’s Upper Vic’s annual, neighbourhood Sale & Fair event – formerly known as the 7th Avenue Sale.
What began as a small community sale across a few blocks in 2004 and has grown to become one of Lethbridge’s “can’t miss” cultural events.
Says Event Coordinator Kevin MacLean, “We throw down the ‘welcome’ mat and invite everyone to discover our ‘hood’ on their own terms. It begins with an alley adventure here and an invite into a private yard there – as you travel on foot from sale to sale. Then, perhaps, it’s a conversation with the folks from BikeBridge in the middle of a pedestrian-packed, residential street, followed by a stroll down the same street to see artists (and kids) creating Canada 150, chalk masterpieces – on the road. Finally, it’s a stop at a stage to take in some live music…all while sipping on a piña colada from our event’s food trucks. And that’s just one of two entertainment-programmed locations. The other one features a VW show & shine!!”
