Lethbridge Community Band 30th Anniversary Celebration
April 8 @ 7:00 pm $25
The Lethbridge Community Band is thrilled to be holding their 30th Anniversary Celebration concert on Saturday, April 8 at Southminster United Church at 7pm. Special guest is modern crooner Michael Vanhevel from Toronto and welcomed back to the podium is conductor Ken Rogers.
Michael Vanhevel is a Canadian singer and actor who has performed with several symphony orchestras across Canada. Michael’s career as a vocalist took a great leap forward when he was introduced to the late, great Canadian big band legend; Howard Cable in 2012. Howard and Michael became fast friends, bonding over their love of the great crooners of the 40’s and 50’s. Howard arranged this symphony show for Michael in 2013, and they opened the show in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Audiences loved the performance, and it opened the door for Michael as a vocalist, “Best Of The Crooners” playing to sold out crowds in Sudbury, London, Hamilton and Thunder Bay. Michael has also appeared as a guest vocalist with the Niagara Symphony, Kingston Symphony and Windsor Symphony in their respective seasons. Along with his concert work, he also pursues his love of the theatre, where he most recently appeared at Magnus Theatre in Thunder Bay as the King of Rock and Roll; Elvis Presley in Million Dollar Quartet. Michael is extremely excited to return to this incredible songbook that he loves so much, and sincerely hopes that all those in attendance enjoy the tribute to some of the most wonderful classics in the history of music.
Tickets, $25 each and children 12 and younger are free, are available online at lcbs.ca, at Casa and at the door.
