Last Man Standing
March 18 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm $20
Only one man can be the last man standing when Pure Power Wrestling presents a high-flying, hard-hitting night of LIVE pro wrestling action at The Last Stand, Saturday, March 18.
In what might be the biggest main even in PPW history, the first ever Power Rumble will be a 15-man over-the-top-rope battle royal to determine who will be the number one contender to take on the PPW Heavyweight Champion in the main event at April’s Anniversary Extravaganza event.
“Our number one contender, The Nightmare, went down with an unfortunate training injury preparing for his title shot at Anniversary Extravaganza,” said PPW Commissioner Bulldog MacBain. “The Gothic Knight and I sat down, and we came up with a great idea to choose a new one: The Power Rumble.”
The Power Rumble is open to any trained professional wrestler in western Canada who thinks that they have what it takes to take home the PPW Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Anniversary Extravaganza VI. Two men will begin in the ring, with a new opponent entering every two minutes. Eliminations occur when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor. The last man standing will be the winner, and the number one contender.
“Anyone who thinks that they have what it takes is welcome to enter the Rumble,” said The Gothic Knight. “We are making some deals and hoping for some surprises for our fans.”
Also on the card, Monster Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Shark Club (Sydney Steele & Tyler James) will team with Travis “The Heat” Copeland to take on the team of The Adult Social Society (“Cougar Meat” Kyle Sebastian & “The Big Sexy Beast” Bradley Graham) and PPW Cruiserweight Champion Cyanide.
“The A.S.S. seems to think that they can do whatever they want,” said Sydney Steele. “They jumped me, they jumped TJ, they’ve jumped everyone under the sun and now it’s time for them to get theirs.”
Kyle Sebastian has a different opinion.
“We’ve beat the Shark Club. We’ve got their number. They can’t compete with the ability or the charisma or the raw sex appeal of the A.S.S. So they’re going to bring their little buddy Travis and think that makes a difference? We’ll team up with Cyanide and beat them again. The three of us can go all night long.
Another rivalry that will be taken to the next level is “The All-American” Steve Rivers and Kid Cyrus. After Cyrus was unsuccessful against Chris Perish in singles action at February’s Wildside event, Rivers assaulted the masked superstar from behind and brutally left him down in the ring.
“Kid Cyrus is an illegal, that’s why he wears a mask, to hide who he really is,” said Steve Rivers when asked about why he attacked Cyrus.
“Illegals like him are stealing jobs up here in Canada from hard working American pro wrestlers like me. Donald Trump appointed me to his Cabinet as the Professional Wrestling Ambassador to Canada, and I made a promise to him to Make Wrestling Great Again. So I’m going to start by taking out illegals like Kid Cyrus. There’s a big potato-eating Irishman running around here. There’s Kato and who knows where he’s even from! I’m pretty sure that Massive Damage came here illegally from New York. I’m here to clean up this sport, starting with Kid Cyrus.”
“Steve Rivers hit me from behind and he hurt me pretty bad,” said Kid Cyrus in response. “I don’t understand what he’s talking about. He’s crazy. But if he thinks he can just push me around because I’m smaller than him, he’s got another thing coming. He can bring it on, and next time he’s going to be the one that gets hurt.”
Will these bitter rivalries boil over when potentially the entire PPW roster, and more, is in the ring at the same time? Also appearing on the card will be Chris Perish, The Irishman, PPW Heavyweight Champion “The Tattooed Terminator” Massive Damage, Kato and seven-foot monster The Orion.
The Last Stand will be held at the Fritz Sick Memorial Centre LIVE Saturday, March 18.
