Upcoming opportunities to engage in Capital Improvement Program
Over the last several months, Lethbridge City Council’s Finance Committee has been presented with over 100 potential projects for consideration in the City’s next Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Before Council begins budget deliberations and finalizes the (2018-2027) CIP, residents are invited to learn more and provide their thoughts.
There will be various community engagement events held over the coming weeks to help inform the community of the projects put forward.
After gathering this information, Council will go into budget deliberations the week of May 15-19 with the final approval of the CIP scheduled for June, 2017.
The CIP identifies required capital projects within the City of Lethbridge and provides a planning schedule and financing strategy. This is a 10 year plan (2018-2027) with funding identified for projects approved within the first four year window.
There will be limited CIP funding available in the next four years. City of Lethbridge departments and local community organizations with CIP needs have been challenged to stretch their thinking and focus on what the community will need in the next 10 years and beyond.
