Amanda Marshall Live

July 14, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Experience The Friendship Through Music

On Friday July 14th a Celebration of culture and friendship between Japan, Canada and Lethbridge will take place. Dignitaries from Japan and Canada will be in attendance to celebrate this milestone year for both Canada and for Nikka Yuko. The event will be highlighted with a musical performance by Canadian Pop-Rock singer Amanda Marshall

Amanda Marshall, the much loved Canadian pop-rock singer, is known for her self-titled debut album from 1995, producing massive Top 40 hits – “Let It Rain”, “Beautiful Goodbye”, “Dark Horse”,”Fall From Grace”, “Sitting on Top of the World” and “Birmingham”. The album remains her most successful work internationally, receiving accolades from Sir Elton John while being interviewed on Late Night with David Letterman.

Her follow-up album in 1999, Tuesday’s Child, produced by Don Was (B-52’s, Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan,Elton John, Michael McDonald, Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones), featured collaborations by song writing heavyweights Carole King and Eric Bazilian. It followed in the same vein as her debut, with a mix of soulful pop songs and ballads, highlighting her powerful voice. Hits included “Ride”, “Why Don’t You Love Me”, and “Believe In You”.

In 2001, she released her third album, Everybody’s Got A Story, marking a change in style and sound for Marshall, with a more noticeable R&B direction. Her singles “Everybody’s Got a Story” and “Sunday Morning After” received major Canadian airplay.

Rarely performing live, Marshall’s classical training from the Royal Conservatory of Music comes through in her live shows and commanding voice. Don’t miss the chance to hear your favourite Amanda Marshall songs live!
