The holiday season is upon us, and local food banks are in full swing as we help the many families that will need assistance this Christmas. With 3 full days of distribution remaining, Interfaith Food Bank is experiencing a shortage on the following items:
• Pork and Beans
• Canned Meats
• Canned Fruits
• Pasta Sauce
• 1 Litre Juice
Toy distribution began on December 18th, and we are also experiencing a shortage of toys for infants and teens.
Organizers encourage community members to purchase some of these most wanted items, or to contribute financially to ensure the Christmas demands are met and the food bank is equipped to enter the New Year with adequate stocks for the continuing need in 2018.
If you do not have time to stop into the food bank, there are several locations throughout the city, including all major grocery stores, with collection bins for Interfaith Food Bank. Donations are also accepted online at www.interfaithfoodbank.ca by clicking the DONATE NOW link.
Those who prefer to provide a cheque can feel free to mail in donations to Interfaith Food Bank, 1103 – 3rd Ave. North Lethbridge AB T1H 0H7. Financial contributions postmarked by December 31st will be receipted for the 2017 tax year.
