As the cold sets in, one Lethbridge’s Anytime Fitness is taking on the challenge to combat it and make sure people in the community are warm all winter.
From November 15 until December 15, Anytime Fitness will be collecting donations of NEW socks, as well as new or gently used mittens and gloves.
Following the collection, United Way will assist in delivering the items to a variety of local organizations which support people experiencing homelessness, and those at risk.
Clean, dry footwear is especially important to prevent foot-related injuries for community members who spend a lot of time outdoors during the winter months. Protecting extremities like fingers and toes is a critical factor in preventing injuries like frostbite, blisters, or chilblains.
For hygiene reasons, donated socks must be new, preferably in their original packaging.
Anytime Fitness is located at 340 University Drive, West and is open 24 hours. Donations may be dropped off…Anytime.
