Weekend Highlights Feb 17-19


Happy Family Day Weekend Southern Alberta! There’s a whole bunch of family activities planned throughout Lethbridge and area for you to enjoy. From sporting events and live theatre, to connecting with Canadian history, we’ve got you covered with these weekend highlights. It’s even supposed to be fairly sunny and warm this weekend, so stay safe and have fun with friends and loved ones this long weekend.

Jedi Handbook

Feb 17 & 18 7:30 p.m. @ University of Lethbridge

It’s your last chance to catch this live performance this weekend. Don’t miss the ‘The Boy’s Own Jedi Handbook’ by Stephen Massicotte, and enjoy the Star Wars phenomenon through the eyes of a young boy.


Kodiak Sports

Supporting local teams and heading to a sports game is a great way to get out of the house for some excitement. You can catch some volleyball and basketball this weekend as Lethbridge takes on Medicine Hat and St. Mary’s. Go Kodiaks!

Opening Reception

If you’re an art fan, you’re going to want to check out the Southern Alberta Art Gallery on Saturday for the opening reception of these two exhibits:

Learn about art education in the 60s and 70s with The Last Art College, and see the potential for a small art college to impact the world of art itself.

Explore adoration by Annie Martin in which sound, space and the visual come together for deeper contemplation.


Feb 18 6:30 p.m. @ Fritz Sick Centre

Pure Power Wrestling is back this weekend with another action-packed event for you to enjoy. Get your tickets at an early-bird special and get ready to watch Massive Damage and The Irishman take on The Adult Social Society. All your other favourite PPW stars will be there including, Kid Cyrus, Kato and Cyanide. Don’t miss out!


Big Band

Feb 18 7 p.m. @ College Drive Community Church

Join the Lethbridge Community Gold Band and the Lethbridge Big Band for a Night of Big Band Music. Get your swing on in your finest zoot suits and poodles skirts and dance the night away in style. Enjoy the classic like, Come Fly With Me as you take in a night of live music and exciting dance.


The Biegels

Feb 19 2 p.m. @ Gem of the West Museum

Get the gang together and head out to Coaldale for this afternoon concert from the Biegel Family. Enjoy an afternoon of wholesome music and family fun. Take advantage of admission by donation with proceeds going towards the museum! All for a good cause in Southern Alberta!


Family Day Activities

Feb 20 All day in Southern Alberta & Lethbridge

And, of course, because it’s Family Day weekend, there is a whole slough of activities planned in and around the area for families to take part in. Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Casa, Galt Museum or the YMCA (to name a few) and see what you can get up to!
