YWCA Women of Distinction awards are presented annually by YWCA Lethbridge & District to women who have distinguished themselves through their achievement as individuals, as members of their communities, and as role models for other women.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am honoured to be able to celebrate amazing women who are contributing to the community in such a positive way,” says Board Co-Chair, Jaylene Ulmer. Through personal, professional and volunteer endeavours, these recipients truly demonstrate the significant impact one person can have on the lives of many.”

The YWCA Lethbridge & District Board of Directors evaluates nominations based on how the nominee enriches the lives of others through demonstrated leadership, compassion and commitment to the community. This is also evaluated within the context of the mission and vision of the YWCA as well as balance between mind, body and spirit as represented by the three triangles of the logo.

“In its 41st year, this annual awards program continues to provide an opportunity to recognize outstanding women who, through innovation and creativity, are positively contributing to a diverse range of professions and industries,” adds Board Co-Chair Jessica Joss. “The recipients truly exemplify the work and mission of the YWCA through their commitment towards enhancing the lives of women in this community.”
