First 100 Day Community Support Campaign Launched

    The 100 Companies that Care Steering committee announced the “100 in 100” campaign on February 3, 2017 with the objective of securing 100+ local companies to join the initiative in 100 days. The community philanthropy initiative is a crowd-funded initiative in which companies make monthly contributions and meet quarterly, to vote on how to allocate the funds.

    “We had a great initial response from companies and now we are making a push to get the number of companies to 100 before other Alberta communities in a friendly competition.” stated Mandy DeCecco Kolebaba, committee co-chair representing Hire Standard.

    Lethbridge has over 5,500 companies and securing 100 represents a small portion at less than 2%. The campaign is set to run through May 15 with the first funding disbursement on June 8th.

    “Once we connect with companies the response is great, it’s just a matter of follow-up and we are confident that we will meet our goal to get 100 by May 15,” stated Justine Peters, Marketing Manager from Stringam Law.

    Companies both large and small are encouraged to contribute a minimum of $100 a month via automatic bank payment, making it simple, affordable, and impactful. In addition to supporting philanthropy and community, participants are also recognized on the website, through social media and promotional campaigns.
