5 things to in #YQL this weekend




The Lethbridge Hurricanes are at home at the ENMAX Centre this weekend looking to add to their five-game winning streak. On Friday they take on the Kamloops Blazers and Saturday they go up against the Prince Alberta Raiders. Puck drops at 7 p.m. on both nights.


Graduate students of the U of L’s Faculty of Fine Arts will be presenting their research in progress Saturday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. You’re invited to the university’s Recital Hall to learn about the research being done in the fine arts, including art, drama, music, and new media.


Casa presents The Story Bridge, a film documenting the migration of Bhutanese refugees from the Himalayas to Nepal and finally to their resettlement in Canada, Saturday at 7 p.m. The documentary was filmed by Lethbridge’s Bhutanese community, the largest group of resettled refugees in our city. Sunday is your last opportunity to check out Changing Places: Immigration and Diversity at the Galt Museum & Archives. The exhibit tells the stories of immigrants from the Second World War to the present, the impact they have had on the community, and the changes they experienced within themselves along the way. The Winter Edition of the DIAMONDS Bridal Exhibition and Fashion Show takes place Sunday at the ENMAX Centre from noon–5 p.m. Event is free, and the Fashion Show starts at 3 p.m.
